• Details:  Such an important pin, and a great piece of women's history!  This pin commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Women's International Bowling Congress which started in 1917.  When you think of everything women were not allowed to do in the 1910's, it's amazing they even got together to bowl.  They were not even allowed to vote until 1920!! They couldn't wear pants, join the military, or serve on a jury.  Good for them that at least they got together to practice this fun sport.  This is a gold-tone metal pin in the shape of a hyacinth with a bar engraved with "WIBC".  The leaves are also engraved one with "our 50th year" and the other "1967".   There is a lot of texture on this pin, obviously not of high quality, but very pretty and of high historical value.  Great for a pin collector or women's history buff.
